The Great Veil & the Hidden World of Elarra

A starless gulf, a graveyard of ships, and the crystalline refuge that few ever reach.

The Great Veil

The crystalline world of Elarra lay hidden within the Great Veil — a dark nebula that swallowed starlight whole. From the outside it appeared as a hollow patch of night, a wound in the galaxy where no stars dared shine. Within, navigation failed: sensors dulled, compasses spun, and with no reference lights, even the most advanced vessels became lost.

Navigation Hazards

The Veil was not empty. Its clouds were dense, filled with charged particles and drifting debris. Traveling at light‑speed through its shrouds was perilous; the density tore at hulls and overloaded drives. Many who tried to cross found their ships crippled, forced to drift in the dark.

Rule of pilots: “Trim to sub‑light inside the Veil, or the Veil will trim you.”

Graveyard of Ships

Over centuries, wreckage gathered until the Veil became a graveyard — hulks of freighters, dreadnoughts, even Authority cruisers, scattered like bones across a void that seemed to hunger for them. Some whispered the Veil itself fed on steel and spirit alike, swallowing those who strayed too far.

Approach to Elarra

To reach Elarra was to pass through that haunted gulf, where silence pressed thicker than gravity and every captain knew the same truth: not all who sought Elias’s people were meant to arrive.
